When
do the TigerSharks practice?
Practice is scheduled four to five days per week.
In early May, there is a week with fewer practices
due to coaches and their high school team commitments.
Please check our
schedule for practice times. Practice is a vital
part of the swim team. It is important and necessary
to arrive at the pool on time.
What
about swim suits?
A good swim suit should be worn for practices; no
bikinis or shorts. The TigerShark team suit is the
Speedo Euphoria and is worn during our swim meets.
Girls need to wear a swim cap.
Are
parents required to volunteer?
Parent participation is vital to a successful swim
season. Each family is expected to volunteer
for a minimum of 20 hours. The variety of positions
available are listed in Volunteer Binders, which
can be found on the pool deck at every practice.
Our swimmers need your support and dedication to
ensure the team’s success!

What
are Family Folders?
Family folders are the primary source of communication
for the swim team. Any events or upcoming meet information
will be found there. In addition, the bi-weekly
newsletter, hospitality assignments and swimmers
ribbons from the previous meet will be filed in
the Family Folders. You will find them located near
the soda machines during practice times. Folders
are arranged in alphabetical order by last name.
If you have multiple swimmers, each swimmer will
have their own folder within your main Family Folder.
Finally, any information they is filed in these
folders must be reviewed and approved by ORPD. Coupons,
events, or personal items (i.e. invitations) are
not permitted to be filled in the swimmer folders.
Please have your swimmer check their folder every
day after practice! Thank-you!
What
is Hospitality?
The TigerSharks are known to have the BEST Hospitality
in the league. Coaches and parents who volunteer
from other teams always know that can look forward
to being served the freshest snacks and drinks on
a regular basis throughout our home meets. Hospitality
requires cooperation from every single family. The
week prior to a home meet, the Hospitality Coordinator
will send out a memo assigning specific items to
each age group to donate for our meet. Items requested
range from muffins to cut up fruit and veggies.
Any and all parent volunteers and coaching staff
are served refreshments from our Hospitality volunteers.
Though the swimmers work hard, they are not served
by Hospitality. If you would like to work Hospitality,
please check the volunteer binder for availability.
